Do you already have a composite deck or facade and wonder how to care for it so that it lasts as long as possible? Or are you just considering composite as an option and want to know what to expect? If your answer to either of these questions is “yes,” you’re in the right place.
Whether it’s a terrace, balcony, facade, or swimming pool area made of composite boards, we all want to maintain our surroundings. Composite boards are low-maintenance, requiring minimal time and money. What should you do, and what shouldn’t you do? How should you clean composite boards? Do they need to be sealed? These and other questions will be answered in this post.
Cleaning Composite Boards: What We Should Do Regularly
Just like other surfaces, composite boards need to be kept clean. Along with proper installation, regular cleaning is essential maintenance. Fortunately, maintaining composite boards is not difficult. All composite boards are resistant to moisture and other adverse weather conditions, making their cleaning routine similar to cleaning a living room floor. Start by sweeping with a brush or a soft-bristled broom. For grooved boards, a long-bristled broom works best. Then wash with water and a mild detergent (a mop or cloth can be used) and allow to dry. Cleaning composite boards doesn’t require specialized cleaners. Regular sweeping is advisable, and for tough stains, a pressure washer can be effective.
Additionally, all Premium boards have a polymer coating that protects against stains, dirt, abrasion, and color fading. This coating makes it easy to remove even stubborn stains (such as ketchup or wine) with just a cloth, mild detergent, and water. For tougher stains, use a scrubbing brush and detergent. Any rust stains from furniture, devices, or other items can be removed with a rust remover without risking color loss.
